Geographic features

Gose City is located in the northwestern part of Nara Prefecture, on the southeastern end of the Yamato Plain. The north side of the city is fertile, flat farmland. The south side of the city is covered by gently rolling hills. To the west, the imposing Kongo and Katsuragi mountains rise to more than 1,000 meters above sea level. Clear springwater from both mountains eventually forms the Katsuragi and Soga rivers, flowing northward to provide life-giving moisture to the lush countryside.
