Geographic features
Wakayama Prefecture is located in the Kii Peninsula, which is the largest in Japan, and Shionomisaki Cape in Kushimoto Town is the southernmost point of the main island of Japan. Most of its land is mountainous and flatlands are along rivers which originate from the Kii mountains that altitude is about 1000 meters. There is a 648km beautiful rias coastline from Wakayama city to Shingu city, and it offers a variety of different landscapes.
