Geographic features

Facing the Sea of Japan and Wakasa Bay, the northern end is called Reihoku and the southern end Reinan. Surrounded by beautiful nature with lush mountains and sea, Fukui Prefecture is particularly known within Japan for its four distinct seasons. Due to heavy winter snowfall, Fukui is blessed with rich, pure water.
