Geography

Kagawa lies in northeastern Shikoku, at the center of Setonaikai National Park—the first national park ever designated in Japan. The prefecture is half-moon-shaped, with the Sanuki Mountains in the south and the Sanuki Plain stretching across the north. Rivers originate in the Sanuki Mountains and flow northward into the sea.
To the north, the Seto Inland Sea is spanned by the Seto Ohashi Bridge, which connects Kagawa with Okayama Prefecture. To the east and south is Tokushima Prefecture, and to the west is Ehime Prefecture. The coastline totals 736 km. The sea is dotted with a multitude of islands, which form a beautiful landscape. The climate is temperate and there is little rain throughout the four seasons.
