Geographical features
Located in Mid-Eastern China, Henan Province borders Anhui and Shandong in the east, Hebei and Shanxi in the north, Shaanxi in the west and Hubei in the south. Henan Province has a complex topography, rich in plains, basins, mountains and hills. The landscape also features a large difference in elevation with the western part of the province being high and eastern part low. The province is surrounded by mountains in the north, west and south, with small basins between the mountains. Large plains cover the eastern part of the province.
