Geographic features

Viet Tri City is the administrative, economic, cultural and educational center of Phu Tho province. It is 1st grade city and is one of ten regional centers of Viet Nam. Viet Tri is located in the center of the Haiphong-Hanoi-Kunming (China) economic corridor and next to Hai Phong-Hanoi-Kunming highway. The city is 70km away from Hanoi capital, 50km away from Noi Bai international airport and 170km away from Hai Phong seaport. Viet Tri is the ancestral land, the ancient capital of Vietnamese people, Hung Temple - special national historical relic. Currently, there are two cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO. Viet Tri city moving forward to become the central city of the Northwestern of Vietnam.

Administrative divisions of Viet Tri city consist of 22 wards and communes (there are 13 wards including: Gia Cam, Tien Cat, Nong Trang, Minh Nong, Minh Phuong, Tan Dan, Duu Lau, Van Co, Van Phu, Tho Son, Thanh Mieu, Ben Got, Bach Hac; 9 communes include Song Lo, Trung Vuong, Thuy Van, Phuong Lau, Thanh Dinh, Chu Hoa, Hy Cuong, Kim Duc, Hung Lo).
