Geographic features

Located in the northern part of Gifu prefecture, in the middle of the Hida region, it is the largest city in Japan, has about 81 km from east to west in width and about 55 km in north and south. The forests cover about 92.1% of the area, geographically divided by mountain, river, valley, pass, etc. and the difference of elevation altitude exceeds more than 2,000 m, the city has a varied topography.
