Friendship Agreement between Nara Prefecture and Chungcheongnam-do, Korea
 

Nara Prefecture and Chungcheongnam-do of Korea, once the capital of Baekje, have a strong historical and cultural relationship. Reciprocal involvement in the events of “the 1300th Anniversary of Nara Heijo-kyo Capital” and “the Great Baekje World Festival 2010” represent the active exchange between the two areas.

On October 26th, 2011, Nara Prefecture and Chungcheongnam-do of Korea signed a friendship agreement to further promote the friendly relationship. For Nara Prefecture, it is the second international friendship agreement following the one made with China’s Shaanxi Province.

Since the Meeting of Advocates to Establish the East Asia Local and Regional Government Congress held in 2009, Chungcheongnam-do has been sending its delegations consistently to the Congress.
